The Key Dilemma

December 10th, 2008

So its about 12:30 at night and Amanda and I are getting ready to leave for Ohio. We have 2 cats (more like monsters if you ask me :) ) that need taken care of while we are away. This requires us to lend a set of of our house keys to a friend of ours so we are not left with zombie kitty upon our return. We have dinner and a movie with our friend to show our appreciation. We watched Prisoner of Zenda. It was supposed to have some really good sword fighting. It was an ok movie, but i could tell that the fight scenes have been sped up, so i was a bit disappointed, but overall i would still call it classic.

Afterwords we drove our friend home. Because this is LA i locked the door and didn’t think anything of it. At our friends house we gave him the keys to the castle so to speak. It was not until upon returning to our home that the fatal flaw was realized. Amanda who I assumed had her keys with her had left them inside the house, and my keys had been given to our friend, and the door to our apartment… locked. What a wonderful way to start a vacation. If this trend continues I am going to need a vacation for my vacation.

I suppose given that this is the internet and that i have mentioned that I have a cat, it would be wrong of me not to post a picture. so here she is; her name is Medusa, like the one in mythology. The other cat named smokey (not pictured) is so old he will likely die upon our return (kidding!) but in all seriousness that is one old cat.
